It's that time of year again, we're bringing some training to you for working with excluded at risk populations. At our 2019 Annual Conference (s), June 28, Mt. Vernon, IL, August August 23, Chicago, IL., we're putting a "Personal Perspective" on the subjects. Dr. Joseph Troiani, 50 years working in the field of addiction and mental health and a 34 year Navy Veteran, Retired and Michelle L. Malkin, recovering from a Gambling Disorder , and now a PhD student and researcher on the consequences of gambling addiction with a focus on gender and gambling motivated crime. Dr. Joseph Troiani, Ph.D., CADC
Joe has worked in the Addiction and Mental Health field for 50 years. He is a retired Navy Veteran with over 30 years of service to our country. He brings, not only his education and research to this presentation, but years of personal experience. He shares it in a very direct and entertaining style and he is nationally recognized for hie expertise on the subject.

Michelle L. Malkin JD, MS is a doctoral student at Michigan State University

Michelle is in recovery from a Gambling Disorder, and now a PhD student and researcher on the consequences of gambling addiction with a focus on gender and gambling motivated crime. She will be presenting treatment approaches that work. Michelle’s research interests focus on (1) gambling motivated crime; (2) queer criminology; (3) women in corrections; and (4) the federal criminal justice system.
