Public Officials Meeting

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is presently developing plans for the following Local Non-composite Bridge Project:

T-358 - Covered Bridge Road Bridge located in Cromwell Township, Huntingdon County

The project will include the replacement of the deck, along with the upgrading of existing drainage and guiderail to current standards. During construction, current plans are for traffic to use a detour to allow the contractor full access to the bridge.

The meeting will be Monday, March 4, 2019 from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Cromwell Township Municipal Building located at 10999 Valley Street, Shirleysburg, PA 17260. It is PennDOT's goal to ensure that interested public officials have an opportunity to attend and participate, through this type of open format. Following the completion of the public officials meeting, a public plans display will be held in the same location from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Sponsorship Opportunity

We have a Employee Ownership and Succession Planning Coffee Connection scheduled for March 6 at the Huntingdon Country Club from 7:45 to 9:00 a.m.

We do have sponsorship opportunities available for this event. Please see the form below in the flyer section for more information.
It's a new year and you may only be thinking about doing 2018's taxes but there are a few changes coming up that take effect this year and may change your planning for the years ahead as well.

Before we get started...full disclosure. I am not a tax professional and the federal changes listed below may not be applicable to you or your income level. Please consult a tax professional for clarification. Use this as a resource from which to begin the planning conversation.

Okay, now that we covered that, let's get onto the changes...

THE TAX CUTS AND JOBS ACT

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act created a lot of changes in the U.S. Tax Code that go into effect for 2018 taxes, the ones we'll file this spring. Changes made to the individual side of the Tax Code expire in 2025, unless they are extended, while the corporate ones are permanent changes.

2019 Spring Jam
Non-Profit Prize

The Spring Jam will be held on Sunday, March 4 at the Huntingdon Country Club from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The Spring Jam helps local non-profits. Non-profits will have tables set up and sell raffle tickets. All money they raise from selling the tickets, they will keep. The non-profit who sells the most raffle tickets will also receive an additional $100.

The raffle prize this year is a Ring Doorbell System and Motion Detector Light with Camera!
Featured Benefit

As a Chamber member, you have the opportunity to participate in our annual event, the Spring Jam. We have local restaurants bring their best dish to participate in the "Taste of Huntingdon County" and the winner receives a custom cutting board made by students at the Huntingdon County Career & Technology Center. Local non-profits come to participate in selling raffle tickets for a technology related prize and raise awareness about their organization. The non-profit keeps all money they raise from selling tickets and the one who sells the most raffle tickets receives an additional $100.
