WHO:
Pastors, seminarians, ministry staff, congregational leaders and spouses. The retreat is an opportunity for ministry leaders and spouses to get away and be enriched through a time of fellowship, worship, prayer, education, and recreation. ALL ARE WELCOME!

WHAT:
Our Winter Retreat offers two parallel tracks. Participants may choose the Leadership Track or the Devotional Track. Everyone on both tracks will share together in common worship and fellowship times.

WHEN:
Sunday PM, January 27 to
Tuesday AM, January 29

WHERE:
Our Winter Retreat is held in Concan, Texas, a beautiful resort community located along the Frio River. The Dream Catcher and Rain Dancer cabins (located near the intersection of Comanche Rd. and Cypress Ln.) serve as our retreat home. Each is designed to host large family gatherings in various sleeping accommodations. We do our best to accommodate married couples in private rooms with queen bedrooms, but we may not be able to do so depending on the total number of registrants. PROGRAM:
The Leadership Track will be led by Rev. Ralph Mann, D.Min., Senior Pastor at Bulverde United Methodist Church. Bulverde UMC is a congregation that has seen significant ministry growth, outreach, and organization change in his 7 ½ years as their pastor. Participants will discuss leadership approaches and processes to position their congregation to address the mission field and strive for excellence.

Please note, Ralph will not be discussing the books in detail, but will be leading us in leadership discussions and organizational development to further our missional outreach.
The Devotional Track will be led by Ms. Laurie Grube, Director of Worship at Martin Luther | Church on Main in Giddings, TX. Laurie will be leading this track based on Jen Wilkin's book, Women of the Word: How to Study the Bible with Both Our Hearts and Our Minds . WHAT TO BRING:
Please bring your own bed linens, towels, toiletry supplies (including soap and shampoo), Bible, books (optional), pen or pencil and paper for notes. Also remember to bring a snack and drink to share and any games and/or sports equipment desired for recreation time (e.g. golf clubs, frisbees, volleyball, basketball, etc.).

FOOD:
There is no professional catering for our meals to help keep costs down. We thank Greg and Alicia Knippa and the people of Zion, Castroville for coordinating our meals. PLEASE INFORM US IN ADVANCE OF ANY SPECIAL DIETARY CONCERNS. 

Attendees are asked to bring snacks and/or a dessert as well as any special drinks to share. Coffee and iced tea will be provided.

HELP:
This retreat is largely put on by participants volunteering their time and talents. Please be willing to help with food setup and cleanup. We are also responsible for basic cleanup - "leave the place in as good a shape as we found it." Thanks for helping to keep our costs to a minimum to maximize participation in this retreat!
