SO MUCH MORE…
We invite you to see 2020 through the eyes of our organization.

It was a year of beautification.
Our 5th and 6th floors of the original north tower built in 1976 received upgrades to create a more welcoming and healing environment. We purchased 80 new beds and as well as additional mattresses for the comfort of our patients. We want to provide our community with not only the best care, but also an environment where you can feel more at home.
We look forward to continuing with these upgrades in 2021.

It was a year of community support.
Our community truly showed their love with donations of food, homemade masks, PPE, and cleaning supplies. It was amazing to see how an unexpected treat could bring a smile to so many faces. We are truly grateful for each and every donation! THANK YOU!

It was a year of improvement.
2020 was the year we embarked on the massive undertaking of parking lot improvements. This multi-phase project was more than just cosmetic, as we were able to do much needed repairs to our infrastructure in the process to keep our parking lot safer.
It was a year of lending a helping hand.
Whether it was tearing and folding isolation gowns, screening visitors for entry into the building, manning incident command, or covering a shift for a sick coworker, our team truly rose to the occasion and volunteered to help in any way possible.
It was a year of change.
As with most years, we said goodbye to many wonderful employees who are now enjoying retirement, but we also welcomed new members to our McLaren team.
It was a year of sharing our story.
Our local media has truly led the way to help share important messaging to the community. Whether it be tips to help keep our community safe, or urgent updates, our media partners were there to help get the message out.

It was a year of miracles.
Through it all, our team at McLaren Bay Region witnessed many miracles throughout the year, including countless stories of patients triumphing against all odds.
It was a year of supporting our community.
Though it took some adapting, we managed to still fulfill our mission of giving back to our community through education and support. We produced virtual education events, socially distanced screenings, and helped support important community health initiatives from six feet away, and with smiling faces hidden by our masks.
It was a year of growth.
We are proud to now offer a Geriatric Psychiatry program to address the special needs of seniors who are experiencing emotional and behavioral changes. 2020 also brought the expansion of more telehealth services than ever before, including the introduction of McLarenNow, which allows patients to see a board certified physician anytime, anywhere from a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a webcam.

It was a year of giving.
McLaren Bay Medical Foundation and the McLaren Bay Region Auxillary have been hard at work fundraising and giving back this past year. Our Family Health & Wellness Center received a new ultrasound machine to further their mission of providing high quality care, while giving valuable experience to medical residents. An emergency response fund provided PPE, such as gowns, face masks and gloves, as well as an ultra-violent disinfectant machine to help keep our team safe.

It was a year of celebrating hard work.
We were proud to receive recognition for the hard work and dedication of our amazing team. These accreditations reinforce we are doing what's best for our patients.
It was a year of hope.
December brought the greatest gift of all this year in the form of a beautiful little vial. Our amazing team truly rose to the challenge of preparing, organizing, and administering this life-saving vaccine at what felt like the speed of light.

It was a year of health care heroes.
Over the last 10+ months, our amazing team of health care heroes have courageously battled on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the process, they have saved countless lives while protecting our community from further spread. We are proud of our team!

Yes, 2020 was a challenging year in health care, but we are proud to say we came out of it a stronger, more unified team at McLaren Bay Region.
From our entire Senior Leadership Team, we are grateful to every patient we had the opportunity to care for in 2020. We are also thankful to our amazing community who supported us as we navigated the challenges COVID has brought on.
We look forward to continuing to serve the health care needs of our community in the new year and beyond and wish you a healthy 2021!
