Embodied Labs Announces First Seed Round Funding

California-based Embodied Labs, has announced its seed funding of $3.2 million led by top age-tech investor, Ziegler Link-Age Fund and co-led by The Venture Reality Fund, SustainVC, WXR Fund and ETF@JFFLabs. Embodied Labs has created an immersive platform using virtual reality (VR) to revolutionize training for the aging care workforce. 

"We are leading this investment round for Embodied Labs because it delivers a unique solution across our limited partners spectrum of senior living, home care, hospice and hospitals to train a workforce that spans four generations," said John Hopper, Chief Investment Officer at the Ziegler Link-Age Fund.

New Report: Voice, Health and Wellbeing 2020

A new report on Voice Health and Wellbeing is now available from Laurie Orlov, Principal Analyst at Aging in Place Technology Watch. The Voice First technology market is expected to grow to reach $49 billion worldwide. With the beginning of HIPAA-compliance, diagnostic capabilities based on voice, and increased personalization capability, Voice First technology promises to provide greater assistance to health professionals and a better experience for consumers at home. 2020 will see more entrants into this early segment, refining what works and adds value. 

        
Silvernest Featured in Reader's Digest

Congratulations to MFA client  Silvernest  for being featured in a recent  Reader's Digest article  that highlights ways to make more money in 2020! 

They were also featured in a story on CBS 8 San Diego about how homesharing is becoming more popular among aging adults in Southern California. 

myFamilyChannel Partners with Longevity Labs

Mary Furlong and Associates introduced myFamilyChannel to LongevityLabs at the 2018 Washington Innovation in Longevity Summit. The two companies share a passion for empathetic user experience design and so have recently partnered to conduct a series of focus groups with seniors living independently and their adult children at the Longevity Labs studio in Boulder, Colorado. 

The results were surprising and inspiring. myFamilyChannel and Longevity Labs will continue to work together to better understand the hearts and minds of older tech users as mFC continues its R&D efforts. 


Camanio Care Announces Partnership

Camanio Care has partnered with Carroll Lutheran Village in Maryland to bring BikeAround, the innovative tool that integrates Google Maps and Swedish technology, to exercise senior minds and bodies. 

Carroll Lutheran Village will be a reference site which will allow local seniors, medical professionals, scientists and other interested parties to use and evaluate the BikeAround. Learn more here
Naboso Technology Joins Startup Incubator Program
 
Congratulations to MFA client Naboso Technology! They are a proprioceptive insole and mat company and they recently announced their acceptance into Upward Labs, an innovative pilot and accelerator program that aligns startup companies with decision-makers in their respective industries. Over the span of the six-month program, they will receive an investment of $300,000 in funds, services and programming.
