Call to Meeting
2020 AUUF Annual Meeting
June 7, 2020 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

The Annual Congregational Meeting of the Anchorage Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will be held electronically via Zoom on Sunday, June 7 at 10:00 AM. To be eligible to vote at the meeting, you must have been a member of AUUF for 30 days prior to the meeting.
Please attend!

We are a member-led, democratic organization with important issues to discuss and decide. We will be voting on next year’s budget, elect members to the Board, approve changes to the Endowment Fund Plan of Operation, and approve a loan that will convert to a grant. These decisions determine the ways AUUF lives its values each year. Be an informed participant!

Because of the current social distancing mandate, the meeting will be held virtually using the computer program Zoom.

Sid McCausland
“AUUF has become my home—my family, my passion. During my service on the Ministerial Search Team I learned a great deal about AUUF and your aspirations for our future. I am honored to accept your nomination to serve on your Board. If elected, I will do all I can to help make your hopes become AUUF’s reality.”
Endow Plan Change
The Endowment Committee seeks two changes to the Endowment Fund Plan of Operation as presented below for member consideration and approval; therefore, please add the following amendments to the agenda of the next AUUF General Membership meeting. A two-thirds vote of approval by the membership is required to amend.

PPP Loan Approval
Action Requested:
Approval of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan from First National Bank Alaska for $46,103.13. The difference between the expenses that qualify for conversion to a grant and the total loan amount will be repaid before any interest is charged.

Background: Congress passed and the President signed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES) on March 27. This provided the opportunity for small businesses and non- profits, including churches, to apply for loans to maintain staffing levels or bring back employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The program, the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), began April 1st, with applications required to go through local lending institutions. $349 billion was allocated and was expected to be depleted within a couple of weeks. (The fund was exhausted by April 16.)

FY21 Budget Information
Action Requested:
Approval of the FY21 Operating Budget.

Background: Our budget year starts on July 1 and ends June 31. We begin the budget process in the fall by asking each committee and team, as well as staff, for their recommendations of income and expenses for inclusion in next year’s budget. By February, they are compiled and presented to the Finance Committee and the Board for a first look. At the same time, the Stewardship Committee’s target fundraising goal for pledges is obtained. Wants are always more than the projected income, so an expense reduction process begins in conjunction with more accurate estimates of income. Usually
this is completed by April 1 in time for the Annual meeting early in May.
