In this issue of British Columbia Golf's newsletter, we have the first reach out from Golf Canada and the Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club to anyone interested in volunteering at next Fall's CP Canadian Women's Open being held at the venerable golf club in Vancouver from August 31st - September 6th, 2020.
There's info on an upcoming Performance camp for young men at Westwood Plateau GC along with a BC Games Coach Mentorship program and an news of an opportunity to take a cruise down the Danube playing golf at some of Europe's most famed courses en route.
You can also take part in the Economic Impact of Golf In Canada study survey, helping to gather information for the industry to analyze the impact of golf on our country's ecomomy. This kind of information is invaluable in making good decisions and for approaching governments with useful numbers to assist in legislation that can affect the game and those who both work and play in the game.
As well, many may recall the historic first PGA TOUR win by Canada's Mike Weir which took place in Surrey, BC at the Air Canada Championship at Northview GC back in 1999. Well, it's been 20 years and our Brad Ziemer had a chat with Weir who looks back on that memorable and career-changing event.
As always, if you have any thoughts or suggestions on topics you'd like to see appear going forward in your newsletter please send a message via the "Contact Us" button located on the top right of the BC Golf website home page.
