TIDBITS / NEWS / EVENTS

So I turn 68 next month, and I am getting into really good physical shape. I owe it to riding my electric Giant Reign twice a week for 20 miles at a time and my standard Giant Roam once a week for 20 miles. Since I ride on the road I’ve turned both of these mountain bikes into road bikes. I did that simply for comfort. Comfort matters to me a whole lot more since I have gotten older, and on a bicycle you just can’t beat having suspension! I also put higher handlebars and a comfortable seat on both bikes.

Generally I take the same routes at basically the same MPH, and I also monitor my heartrate with a Fitbit. On setting one my Reign gives me virtually the same work out as my standard Roam. Of course when I hit a headwind or big hill I have four more power settings on my Reign, so I pick which bike I ride based on the route and the weather that day.

Bicycling is such a wonderful way to have fun and get some exercise at the same time. Come into Southern California Giant and demo one of our electric bicycles, or rent one, and you will find that having a choice of a little more leg power, when you want or need it, is absolutely awesome.

2020 Ducati Streetfighter V4 S
Commute Review
Ducati  had a big void in its sport motorcycle model lineup for the last few years with the absence of the Streetfighter  naked bike .

Debuting 11 years ago, the rowdy-looking  Streetfighter  was fast and fun, but awkward handling too. It was eventually phased out after a short production period. However, with the reintroduction of the  Streetfighter V4 S  ($23,995), the Italian marque is capitalizing on the more refined, but still ultra-high-performance pedigree of its  Panigale V4  superbike platform, in a more comfortable and upright package.

From the moment the kickstand is raised, the Streetfighter feels like a more polished machine than the Panigale. From throttle response and engine fueling to the supple (at times) suspension damping and well-proportioned ergonomics, the Streetfighter is a more finished-feeling streetbike. That is until you yank the twist grip and hear the shriek of the liquid-cooled 1,103cc V-4 as it surges toward its 15,000-rpm redline… Better hang on. Yet jet aircraft-like G-forces and an exhaust note that literally scares folks on the side of the road aren’t what defines the Streetfighter. What does is its mild manners.
