If our 2020 dues are required to be paid by the November Stated meeting why do we start receiving notices in August?
Our dues make up the majority of our income and since we receive these funds once a year cash flow gets tight in August & September without prompt payment. We pay the Grand Lodge Per Capita fee in August which for this year was $4,445.25. If you divide that by the 245 members we have you'll see that is just over $18 per member. That leaves less than $60 of your dues available for lodge operations.
But if we have 245 dues paying members plus other income we should have plenty of funds available.
We have 245 members, but not 245 dues paying members. We have nearly 15% of our Brothers who have served Masonry for more than 50 years and who are therefore exempt from paying dues as you will be when you reach that benchmark.
We also have 6% of our members who have paid for endowed memberships, These Brothers have paid past their years, so that when they pass to the celestial lodge above J. B. Covert will still receive a dividend from the funds they provided which are managed by the Grand Lodge of Ohio Endowment Committee. Several of these Brothers donate significantly more than their fair share throughout the year on top of having paid their endowed member fees. When will we get new plastic dues cards?
We're expecting the Grand Lodge to issue new plastic dues cards sometime in the 2021-2022 period.
