The Ohio Section American Water Works Association (OAWWA) Young Professionals (YP) Committee is asking that you to reach out to students regarding this opportunity. During the OAWWA Annual Conference, the YP Committee hosts the Fresh Ideas Competition. We give graduate students, undergraduates, and recent graduates the opportunity to submit abstracts to us on any drinking water-related research they have been involved in. Topics can include source water protection, drinking water treatment, water distribution and storage, etc.!

If you know of a student who has been involved with drinking water-related research, please invite them to submit an abstract to me (contact information below) by May 29, 2020 . They will either give a 30-minute oral or 10-minute poster presentation. In their abstract application, they can state which type of presentation interests them. Not only will students network with fellow water professionals, but they will also compete for monetary prizes and the opportunity to give a poster presentation at the American Water Works Association’s Annual Conference and Exposition (ACE). This would be a financially sponsored trip to San Diego, CA in June of 2021. More information and the Fresh Ideas Competition application can be found HERE.
