Jacksonville, FL - Congratulations to Roger Penske, The Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance’s Silver Anniversary honoree. This week President Donald Trump announced that he would bestow the Presidential Medal of Freedom on the founder of Penske Corp. and Team Penske, the championship-winning racing team whose racers have won the Indianapolis 500 a record 18 times since 1972 and logged over 530 individual race victories.

The Presidential Medal of Freedom is America’s highest civilian honor and is presented to those who have made especially meritorious contributions to the security or national interests of the United States, to world peace, or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.

Penske was at the White House just last week with this year's Indianapolis 500 winner, Simon Pagenaud. He was also in Washington in April when Trump welcomed 2018 NASCAR Cup Series Champion Joey Logano to the White House.

No timetable for the presentation has been announced.
