2020 Immunization Schedules
The CDC has published updated immunization schedules for 2020:
Among the notable updates are:

  • For adults 65 and over, PPSV23 (Pneumovax23) is still routinely recommended, and shared clinical decision making is recommended for PCV13 (Prevnar 13) administration to immunocompetent persons. See the CDC guidance for details.

  • Expanded HPV9 indication for adults aged 27-45, based on shared clinical decision making.

  • After an initial dose of Tdap, Td or Tdap can be given every 10 years as a booster.

It's Time to Pre-Book Your Flu Vaccine Reservation for the 2020-2021 Flu Season

Most flu vaccine manufacturers offer the opportunity to reserve flu vaccines for the upcoming flu season. Practices that confirm their reservations by March 31, 2020 often get extended discounts, delivery commitments, a returns allowance for unused doses, and more. For more information, contact the CPP Office or your influenza vaccine manufacturer!

  • Merck – effective 10/31/2019
  • Sanofi Pasteur – effective 1/1/2020
  • Pfizer – effective 2/27/2020

Managing a financially sustainable vaccine program is key to providing the most value to your practice and your patients. During price increases, check the following:

  • Invoices to make sure you’re being charged correctly;
  • Office fees to make sure they are adjusted for the price changes; and
  • Insurance payments to make sure they have adjusted accordingly.
