Hello 2020 All-Star team members and families!

Just a final update before we see you in Indy on Friday:

  1. Support your teammates - we are looking for athletes to really get up for their Minnesota teammates at this meet! Make friends and support them - we are all in this together so let's work as a team and make some great things happen!
  2. IUPUI Pool - It's a big place - pack some warm things to stay dry on the deck. I'm ok with your home team jackets and parkas. Please keep on-deck stuff swimming related. SHOES ARE A MUST - you lose most of your body heat from your head and feet at a swim meet - you will want to have shoes on while on deck for both that reason and for protection for your toes from swinging doors, etc...
  3. You'll receive two shirts on Friday evening - wear your BLUE shirt on Saturday and your GREY shirt on Sunday. We expect you to wear your All-Star team shirt for the day for any and all pictures and awards ceremonies.
  4. Plan on being on deck in the team area no later than 9:15 AM on Saturday at the pool. We'll have our Team Picture and meet and greet with Zach Apple and Zane Grothe before we get in for warmups at 10:00 AM.
  5. Pack healthy snacks and stay hydrated - really important! Prepare like a champion and be ready to perform like one!
  6. Relay Policy - Coaches will determine relays and post late on Friday night. Relays can change at any time. Coaches have the final word on relays. If you have a question regarding relay placement you can speak with me about it - glad to listen.
  7. Who is coaching who? Here's the roster:

10/u Lead Coach – Coach Travis
10/u Coach – Coach Mikaela
11/12 Lead Coach – Coach Amy
11/12 Coach – Coach Jessica
13/14 Lead Coach – Coach Emma
13/14 Coach – Coach Annika
Floating Coach/Admin Coach – Coach Rory
Fixer/Team Support - JB

As few quick notes:

  • If you are only in three individual events you will automatically be placed on at least one Team Minnesota relay.
  • There is a lot of swimming in a very short period of time - focus on your events and get ready to rock!
  • Let me know if you have any questions about the events and why I placed athletes where I did.
  • No one is allowed to break anything or get the flu from here on out. It's time to go full bubble and get ready to swim fast!

OTHER ITEMS:

  • MEET TIMELINE - Here is a link to last year's timeline for travel planning purposes. Note - Indianapolis is on Eastern Time - they are one hour ahead of us - please keep that in mind for all your travel plans. I will also post this on the Team Minnesota webpage.
  • MEET WARMUP - FRIDAY, 1/3/20. I've modified the warmup time to 6 to 8 PM. Team Minnesota will have coaches at the warmup at this time.
  • Athletes swimming the 1650 will need to provide a timer and a counter for the event. The coaches will help organize this on Saturday - please plan on staying for the duration of the competition schedule to cheer on every Team Minnesota athlete!

That's all I have. Let me know if you have any questions and thank you!

Regards -
