January 19 - 25, 2020
Each year we celebrate all things that make hockey the best sport to play and give thanks to the many volunteers and parents that make hockey happen in every community around BC and the Yukon.

This year, we are celebrating Minor Hockey Week from January 19 - 25, 2020 with a fun contest, a positive initiative and volunteer recognition awards. We also want to hear what you, your team and/or Association/community have planned!

Email info@bchockey.net with details and pictures for a chance to be featured on the BC Hockey website or tag us on social media @BCHockey_Source .
We are running a fun contest and want to know "What Makes You Smile at the Rink?" There are so many reasons to smile at the rink!

Is it being with your friends? Watching your little/big brother or sister? Scoring your first goal?

Tell us why for your chance to win a BC Hockey swag bag full of goodies!
The Penalty-Free Challenge encourages positive social values, including fair play, integrity, respect and fairness. These are all essential elements of our game that the program strives for.

The Vancouver Canucks are partners with BC Hockey in this initiative, and both the Canucks and BC Hockey believe that the principles of fair play are far greater than the game itself.

If a team completes a game during Minor Hockey Week, January 19 - 25, 2020, without taking a penalty, they can submit their gamesheet and entry form to BC Hockey.

Minor hockey teams who successfully enter the Penalty-Free Challenge receive a special game.
During Minor Hockey Week, BC Hockey will be accepting applications for the 2020 Fred Heslop Minor Hockey Week Awards . These awards recognize hockey volunteers in BC and the Yukon for their exceptional service.

Do you know someone who has:

  • Made a significant contribution to hockey in your community
  • Enhanced hockey programs within your Association
  • Gone beyond expectations
  • Made remarkable achievements

We need your help to recognize these amazing people who make hockey happen around the province and in the Yukon. Don't forget to include a picture!

In total, five (5) awards will be presented during National Volunteer Week, April 19 - 25, 2020. Nominations close on Saturday, January 25, 2020.
