RESPONSIVENESS TO COMMUNITY

Since 1913, Nutley Family Service Bureau’s history has been characterized by responsiveness to community needs. In the twenty-first century, NFSB carries on that tradition. Since the new year, our township has been coping with charged situations which require varied supportive responses on the part of township stakeholders. NFSB recognizes our role in that effort, and has provided diverse support.
THANKSGIVING INITIATIVE KICKOFF!
The Nutley Family Service Bureau's Thanksgiving Initiative provides the turkey and all the trimmings to make a memorable holiday meal for our Pantry participants.
Thanksgiving Initiative
In 2019, a record number of Nutley residents, organizations, church groups and businesses, donated all the necessary food items. A small army of volunteers, organized, packed and distributed over 150 holiday meals.

This year, due to the pandemic crisis, food insecurity has increased dramatically. Please consider supporting this Initiative in the following ways: A financial donation/gift cards, Non-perishable item and/or Frozen Turkey contributions.

CROP WALK FOR HUNGER
Crop Walk For Hunger is sponsored locally by United Vincent Methodist Church and CWSglobal.org
Crop Walk 2020
The 2020 CROP Hunger Walk will be a virtual effort and though we will not be gathering, individuals or socially distanced groups may walk during the week of October 18th thru October 24th.

Participants can choose their own routes and distances to walk safely and collect donations from sponsors before or after the walk. Efforts will help the hungry around the world with 25% of proceeds going to NFSB Pantry and the Vincent Church Care Kitchen. The Walk is virtual, but the need could not be more real!

COMMUNITY FOOD DRIVES FOR NFSB PANTRY
This past August and September, community partners worked hard to help stock the Pantry shelves in this time of pandemic crisis.
NFSB would like to acknowledge these efforts as we continue to serve the expanding need of those who are coping with economic uncertainty and food insecurity. The generous support of residents, as well as municipal, business, civic, and religious organizations is truly, Neighbors Helping Neighbors in action!
