Considering recent COVID-19 developments, NICHE has made the difficult, but ultimately necessary decision, to cancel our conference in New Orleans in April. As the number of U.S. cases increase, not only would it be imprudent to hold a large gathering with the potential to spread the virus, but given the enormous pressures the geriatric nursing workforce faces with the particular vulnerability of the older patient population, it would be unethical to pull our nurse leaders away from their communities where they will be needed.

We know that so many of you have been on the frontlines of this public health crisis over the last month and that the times demand your clinical leadership. On behalf of all of us, we are deeply grateful to the commitment you show your patients and their families each day. We are thinking of you.

Conference attendees will receive further information regarding cancellation in the coming days. There are a considerable amount of obligations for us to unwind, so we ask for your patience as we sort through those issues. We will be back in touch as soon as we have more of the details.

For any urgent concerns, please contact the NICHE support team at or 212-998-5596 and we will respond as soon as we can.

Stay healthy,
