Important Race Information
Stay up to date on the latest race details and developments!

Trail conditions:
There is plenty of snow on the course and adequate snow within the city limits of Marquette on the last few kilometers to the Superior Dome. The forecast is calling for 1-3 inches of new snow just about every other day this week and cold temperatures next week. There is plenty of snow throughout the entire route and the race committee is excited for Noque 2020!

Trail work continues on the most remote portions of the course removing down and bent over trees over the trail and prepping water crossings.

Elite Classic Wave 1 petition deadline:
Early registration for those skiers wanting to be in the top 50 of wave 1 in the 50K Classic will be very important. To be considered for a higher wave placement a participant must have skied in the previous years Noquemanon or petition in to a higher wave with comparable ski marathon times (or a prior Noquemanon result). Petitions can be sent to registration@noquemanon.com and must be received by January 17th . We cannot guarantee a top 50 start placement (or bib number) if you register after the petition deadline.

Bib number and wave assignments:
A new process is being rolled out for 2020 events. Bib numbers will be preassigned for the top 50 in Wave 1 of the 50K Classic race only. All other participants will be assigned a bib number upon check in on Friday night at bib pickup/ski expo held in the NMU Superior Dome. To be considered for a higher Classic or Freestyle wave a participant must have skied in the previous years Noquemanon or petition in to a higher wave with comparable ski marathon times (or a prior Noquemanon result). Petitions can be sent to registration@noquemanon.com and must be received by January 17th. We cannot guarantee a top 50 start placement (or bib number) if you register after the petition deadline.

24K Half Noque bibs:
Different colored bibs will now be used for the 24K Half Noque. The day's of all yellow are gone! Each 24K wave will have a different color assigned and each bib will have the wave assignment printed directly on the bib. This will give each skier, as well as the starter of the race, a clear visual as to what wave a skier is in. This will also help our volunteers and emergency personnel more quickly determine what wave a skier started in. All 50K skier bibs will remain fully white as in years past.

Bib pick up:
Returning participants - watch for a different pick-up process at the Dome this year. We will no longer be printing bib receipts that need to be presented at a bib table. Our registration volunteers will be able to verify your information, quickly check you in, and provide you with your bib assignment all at one spot.

Noue hat and swag :
The famous Noque hat will continue to be distributed to all long event participants at a hat table (it is not in the bag!). Short event participants will receive a buff. These will be nearby all of the other Noquemanon merchandise which will be available for purchase.

As a reminder, all participants checking in for bib pick up need to present a valid picture ID .

More important race information will be coming soon as we get closer to race day and the expo. Stay in touch.

Thank You For Your Support!
The Noquemanon Ski Marathon is an event of the Noquemanon Trail Network (NTN) - a 501c3 non profit organization. The mission of the NTN is to secure, develop, maintain and promote the use of a non-motorized trail network throughout the Central Upper Peninsula of Michigan. NTN relies on the support of the community and generous land owners to keep trails open and available to the public. NTN works with over 45 landowners, both public and private, for daily trail access and over 90 landowners for events. NTN maintains an agreement with each landowner and carries liability insurance to protect each landowner above protections provided by  Michigan Act 451 . Through a variety of agreements, easements, and ownership, NTN is working towards protecting and growing trail access for the future. As of 2019 there are 7 trail systems maintained by NTN from Munising to Big Bay. Funds for our work come from membership, donations, sponsorships, grants, fundraising events (like the Noquemanon Ski Marathon), and occasional contracted trail builds. NTN does not receive any direct local government funding for development or maintenance but a number of municipalities provide land access. To sign up for NTN newsletters, or to become an NTN member, click the buttons below! Thank you for your support!
