Counting our Blessings
Dear Parents,

Seven weeks complete and I am grateful for the continued good health of everyone at school and for everyone's vigilance in keeping us safe through the coming winter.
Look who came to say hello! Cindy Walsh, Emeritus Nursery School Director and Tempe Thomas, Emeritus Teacher and After School Program Director. Their loving stewardship of CCPC built a joyful community that continues to grow today. So great to catch up with these amazing women.
As busy adults, it is so much easier to help children in order to move our days forward with some level of efficiency. But it is The Gift of Autonomy that we work hard to give your child every day at school. Whether it's getting shoes and coats on and off successfully, unpacking our backpack, or assisting in important classroom jobs, learning these self-help skills set children up to be independent and feel confident. When you can, try to slow down and allow your child these learning opportunities and enjoy seeing their proud smile when they accomplish something for themselves.

Enjoy your Halloween in whatever spooky form it takes this year!

Please enjoy our new video that showcases our renovated space and joyful children at play!

Better yet, meet Noni at the gate immediately after you drop off to have a quick, physically distanced, guided tour any day next week (November 2-6). No sign up required.

As the weather turns cooler, please send lots of layers and remember to label everything, including hats and mittens.
Covid Testing Resources
We know that many medical providers can administer tests and offer good advice, but wanted to share some resources recommended by fellow parents.
RAPID TESTS
Pediatric Xpress Urgent Care. 11411 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD, 20902, (240) 244-0723 www.xpresspediatrics.com
Several families have accessed rapid tests via Pediatric Xpress in Silver Spring, since many medical providers have a long turnaround times to receive results. We’ve received good reports about the experience at this clinic.
PCR TESTS
Institute for Asthma and Allergy, 2 Wisconsin Cir #250, Chevy Chase, MD 20815 (Friendship Heights) (301) 962-5800. www.allergyasthma.us
Parents should ask for an appointment for COVID testing with Dr. Lili Wan. Another doctor may see their child but Dr. Wan is coordinating these tests and requesting her will get folks on the schedule faster. Someone is at the IAA office in Chevy Chase to do COVID testing on M-W and on Friday. They also have an office in Wheaton for testing on Thursday. IAA is able to turn PCR results in 24 hours and often the same day if folks have morning appointments. They bill insurance so most parents can use that as a resource.

Anyone traveling outside the metropolitan area is advised to check the current information about the mandatory 14 day quarantine required after visits to many states, currently 39 of the 50. There is no option to test out of this 2 week period. The current DC government-issued list is on our home page under the Covid-19 Response Box,
