2020 Presidential Preference Primary and City of Gainesville Regular Election sample ballots mailed and available

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. (February 28, 2020) — Sample ballots for the 2020 Presidential Preference Primary and City of Gainesville Regular Election, which will be held March 17, have been mailed.

Because Florida is a Closed Primary State, the sample ballot a voter receives is based on his or her political affiliation. Those registered with the Florida Democratic Party and the Republican Party of Florida by Feb. 18 will receive Democratic and Republican sample ballots, respectively.

All registered voters who reside within Gainesville’s city limits, regardless of party affiliation, are able to vote in the City of Gainesville Regular Election and will receive a sample ballot with city contests. The following seats on Gainesville’s City Commission are up for election: At-Large Seat 2, District 2 and District 3.

All city voters will be eligible to vote in the At-Large race. Only voters who live in Districts 2 and 3 will be able to vote on those contests. A detailed map of all City of Gainesville Commission districts can be found at .

Only one sample ballot per party affiliation represented in the household is mailed. Voters are encouraged to contact our office if they have not received a sample ballot by March 6.

The sample ballot includes a list of precincts and polling locations. Information on early voting, voting by mail, Election Day voting and other elections-related subjects is also on the sample ballot.

Digital copies of the sample ballots are available online at . Voters can view their individual sample ballots by going to .
