Dear Families -
Thank you for hanging in there with us while we have been working with the hotel to find workable options in the midst of this crisis situation in our nation. It is looking like we will need to find a new date for prom, for the safety and well-being of all of the students, parent team members, and hotel staff. Keep praying for a "best solution"!
There simply isn't a new plan in place yet.
We promise to you that we will reach out to you as soon as we have something firm. If you've already been told a new date by someone else, erase that from your calendar - that was not factual information.
We realize that for many of you, just like us, it's hard to work around a problem that we can't see and come up with solutions when we don't know how long this invisible enemy will be among us. What we do know is this - going to prom is an important part of growing up and is particularly special to the many graduating seniors. So, we are working on procuring a new date that meets all of our most vital criteria - it will likely be sometime in the summer months to get out past this virus spread.
STUDENTS:
We are committed to having your prom! We are working every single day on it, even in the midst of the shutdown. There are people building things at their homes, making maps, working on the app, designing fun souvenirs and surprises for you, and best of all, planning ahead with every intention of having PROM!!!! We know you're missing out on a lot of other things right now, so we are excited to have something to hope for, to look forward to, and to be expectant about! (Please don't show those phrases to your teachers - I used bad grammar for a reason!)
PARENTS:
Please do NOT try to make a change to your Parent Participation assignment right now.
We realize the whole calendar is going to end up being completely different if we change the date. So, if you have already done your Parent Participation, no worries. If you have NOT done your Parent Participation yet, please give our team some time to find out the actual details and update the calendar with each defined task. Someone will contact you again to reconfirm with you about your assignment if it is happening in the future.
If you NEED to drop, please wait until you get that phone call so we don't overload the Parent Participation lead with that right now. Trust me, her job is about to get very messy.
Anything else we haven't covered means we don't have answers yet. As soon as we do, you'll be among the first to know!
Thank you for standing with us and remaining excited about your prom! We commit to reaching out to you every time we have firm news to share. We are doing our level best to keep all the plates spinning because Prom matters to us as much as it does to you!
Blessings,
Sunny & Stephen Lerch, Vickey & Wayne Smith
