2020 Saskatchewan Summer Games
July 26 - August 1, 2020
South East Sport, Culture & Recreation District has developed this news flash to inform schools and families about the upcoming 2020 Saskatchewan Summer Games which will take place in  Lloydminster from July 26 - August 1, 2020!

The purpose of the Saskatchewan Games Program is to provide an opportunity for the province’s developing athletes, coaches and officials to participate in a multi-sport event in preparation for a higher level of competition. The Games were first held in Moose Jaw in 1972 and have been a strong developmental force for all sport within the province. Estevan hosted the Saskatchewan Games in 2016 and 1980 and Weyburn in 2004.
Try Out for Team South East
Approximately 1900 athletes (200 from Team South East), coaches, managers and district team mission staff will represent the nine districts in sports which include:
1st Half: Athletics, Baseball, Canoe/Kayak, Soccer, Triathlon, Volleyball
2nd Half: Archery, Basketball, Golf, Rugby, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Swimming Special “O”, Tennis

at www.southeastdistrict.ca. Stay tuned for try out announcements. Individuals interested in coaching a sport can contact the appropriate Provincial Sport Organization.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) About the Games
What is my role as a coach and manager?
  • Responsible for team supervision and discipline travelling to, from, and during games
  • Must abide by the same athlete’s village curfew as their team
  • Required to stay in the athlete’s village

What do mission staff (MS) do?
Mission staff are your “go to” people during the Games. A Mission Staff volunteer will be designated to every sport team, who will be there to support and provide you with information and daily updates

What can I expect at the Games?
You can expect an awesome time! You will meet other youth who are passionate about sport and you will compete against some of the top athletes in the province!
