If the live turnout is not enough, then you will be refunded the difference between webinar and in-person or total refund if you decide not to attend as webinar.

This annual workshop is back for a look at the coming year which will be filled with so many planetary signatures that we should expect the year ahead to continue to be a bumpy ride as it was last year, but with some differences as noted in the description below. Yes it is four hours long (there will be a 10-15 minute break) but since last year's turned into four hours, and this year we have so many planetary occurrences, I thought it best to just make it four hours. It is all right if you cannot stay for the entire webinar, or come late, or not attend live, since you will receive recordings and all the handouts.

This year the workshop will be simultaneously a webinar and in New York City (if there are enough participants who want to do it live). And as usual everyone as well as those who cannot make it live will get complete handouts with 2020 charts and tables, showing degrees and dates to watch in the upcoming year along with audio mp3, and audio-visual mp4. As usual, these are from the point of view of both tropical and Indian (sidereal) astrology. (If you pay to do it in NYC and we wind up only doing as a webinar, you can attend as webinar, receive the recordings and handouts, or be refunded.)
I will once again provide a separate recording and handout explaining the technical and theoretical basis for things like eclipses and retrogrades, since many of you have already heard this. Instead we will dive straight into the lunations, eclipses, retrogrades, aspects, and ingresses. Some (but not all) planetary signatures we will cover are as follows:
  • Lunations (New and Full Moons)
  • Seven eclipses.  There are six eclipses in the calendar year of 2020, but since the one on December 26 is part of the pair that includes the one on January 10, we will actually look at seven of them as follows:
           Dec. 26, 2019. Solar Eclipse/Jan. 10, 2020 Lunar Eclipse.

June 5, 2020 Lunar Eclipse, June 21, 2020 Solar Eclipse,
           July 5, 2020 Lunar Eclipse
Nov. 30, 2020 Lunar eclipse, Dec. 14, 2020 Solar Eclipse
All the eclipses are part of the 18 year Saros cycle, and, except for the one on January 5 (6), part of the 19 year Metonic cycle.
  • Planetary Stations.  Annual retrograde cycles of Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. Venus and Mars retrograde this year. Mars will be in tropical Aries for six months. Whew!. and it will straddle between sidereal Pisces and Aries for eight months. That is because of the retrograde Mars. On Election Day 2020 when we vote for US President, Mercury stations direct, exactly what it did on Election Day 2000 when there was no decision in Bush v. Gore. What makes this election mo
  • Aspects. Some of the more important aspects for 2020 are as follows.
  • Jan. 8, 2020. Jupiter-Ketu (South Node) conjunction
  • Jan. 12, 2020. Saturn-Pluto conjunction.
  • Feb. 25, 2020. Mars-South Node (Ketu) conjunction.
  • April 5, June 30, Nov. 12, 2020. Jupiter-Pluto conjunction.
  • Dec. 21, 2020. Jupiter-Saturn conjunction.
  • Tropical Ingresses. Jupiter will be in Capricorn and Aquarius. Saturn moves into Aquarius. The Nodes move into Gemini and Sagittarius.
  • Sidereal Ingresses. Jupiter will be in Sagittarius and Capricorn. Saturn moves into Capricorn. Pluto enters Capricorn. The Nodes move into Taurus and Scorpio.
  • We will go over how these planetary signatures affect each Ascendant.

Thursday November 21-Monday November  25, 2019. in Sedona AZ. Sedona Vedic Astrology Conference.  I am happy to be doing a pre-conference workshop on Thursday on The Magic of Sanskrit for Vedic Astrologers, and a Saturday lecture on Eclipses.

Here is the description for the pre-conference workshop that I am thrilled to present with Simon Chokoisky.

The Magic of Sanskrit for Vedic Astrologers

We will learn about the magic of Sanskrit sounds and words that make up the deeper meaning of the planets, signs, houses and nakshatras. Included will be the proper pronunciation of these concepts and becoming acquainted with all the different Sanskrit words for them (especially the planets). We will look at how two words combine to form one, like vargottama, which consists of varga (division or group) and uttama (highest or greatest), which literally means the highest division of a planet. We will link the Hindu myths to the many manifestations of the planets and Simon will show how to pronounce mantras properly for maximum effect so you can enter the heart of Jyotisa through the sacred vibration of the Sanskrit language. Sample horoscopes will show how understanding Sanskrit roots enhance approach interpretation and forecasting, completing a fabulous introduction to the sacred language of India. Take a look.  Mantras
Mercury Retrograde begins on Halloween

I don't know if it makes any difference that Mercury retrograde (October 31-November 20) begins on Halloween but it is an interesting fact. Hopefully it could simply mean that everyone is moving slower and we will be able to really take time to enjoy the festivities.

Remember that some people feel that Mercury retrograde has already begun due to the shadow or retrograde arc period. This means that the date that Mercury enters that retrograde arc (I prefer that term) is the same degree where it will eventually station direct. The date that it leaves the retrograde arc, is the same degree in which Mercury stationed retrograde. Any planets, points or angles between those degrees will especially be affected, and if you do not have anything at those degrees or aspecting those degrees just look at the house in your chart where it falls. If you do not know your chart and only know your Sun sign degree, you can also look at the house from that sign.

I do not feel that it is already retrograde but that it indeed has started to slow down the flow of information, and it has already warned us that we must be very clear in our communications, since that really is what Mercury retrograde is all about. We cannot always control if our computers slow down, or if there is a lot of traffic and delays, but what we can do is just take deep breaths, call up patience, and really focus on what is most important and to choose our battles wisely. there is no reason to get bent out of shape if your train is delayed, and if you are late for an appointment, just be clear what the problem is and the person on the other end will understand.

Ditto for signing contracts and any other important papers. Make sure you are clear, and you have asked all the questions you needed to. Do not hesitate to ask for a re-wording of something, and just make sure you cover all your bases. It is always good to show the contract to someone who understands what it is about.

What I am suggesting is something you should do all the time, but especially during periods of retrograde Mercury. Here are the dates and degrees below including the Sun-Mercury inferior conjunction, which always occurs midway between the retrograde and direct stations when Mercury is closest to Earth. All times are in GMT.
