2020 TAX RETURN UPDATE
US Treasury Form 1040 for an Individual Return in close up in a money_ finances_ tax and income concept
As we get ready for the start of the 2020 tax season, we want to give you a few key updates on what to expect. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to myself or anyone else on the team directly.

Tax Organizers are on the way!!
We began mailing the 2020 tax organizers to all of our existing and new clients this week so keep an eye open for an envelope from us. If you are an existing client, the organizers will have your relevant information from your 2019 tax return. Although we find these organizers very helpful to make sure nothing is missed, they are optional. If you choose to use them, please complete as soon as you can and send them back with any supporting documents.

We have a new client portal to securely transfer data!
Regarding sending data to us, we are excited to announce the launch of a new client portal that will allow for a more efficient and secure method to transfer information between us. You can use this portal to easily send the organizer back to us along with W2's, 1099's, mortgage statements and other supporting documents. Likewise, we can use this portal to send tax returns and other forms back to you.

In the coming days, look for an invitation from the e-mail address shown below (in case it goes to spam) along with instructions on how to register for this new tool

Electronic Signatures Coming!
We are also happy to announce that this year's version of our tax software will allow for electronic signature via DocuSign. We think this will be a useful feature to get signatures back more easily on certain documents (like the 8879 e-File Authorization form). We are happy to absorb the added cost of using this service this year as we give it a test run!
We have not heard of any delays in tax filing due dates at this time so business returns are still due on March 15th and personal tax returns on April 15th. The IRS has announced that they pushed back the date they will start processing returns to Feb 12th. We will keep abreast of any timing changes that might come out and keep you in the loop.

2020 was a challenging year and we are excited to help you put it behind you by filing your taxes!

Thanks for your business and we hope 2021 is off to a great start for you!
