Many thanks to all who worked behind the scenes to make the 2020 Annual Meeting a success, and to all who participated and voted. If you were unable to attend, ask a Vestry member for details and/or ask in the office for copies of annual reports from clergy, committees and organizations. Here are the election results:
2020 VESTRY MEMBERS
These new Vestry members will serve for three years; their term will end in January 2023:

FRED KIRCHHOFF is retired from state employment and enjoys working outdoors. He usually attends the 8:00 a.m. Sunday service with his wife, Frances. Fred served as Council President and on two pastor search committees at a previous church. At Ascension he has served as an usher at the 10:30 service, and he serves on a Sunday Breakfast Team with the Men’s Club.

JUDITH SPENCER is retired and usually attends the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service. At Ascension, she is active in the Daughters of the King, Altar Guild, Reading Camp, and with hospitality and kitchen help for events of all kinds. In the community, she is involved with The Kings Center Secret Angels, Book Buddies at Second Street Elementary, and Life House for Animals.

JULIA PEAVLER TYSON is employed as a school counselor for Jefferson County Public Schools. She attends the 8:00 or 10:30 Sunday service and often serves as Chalice Bearer, Lector or Acolyte, and reads Prayers of the People. She has attended Education for Ministry (EfM) classes. She has served two previous terms on the Vestry, serving as Senior Warden under Father Neat, and also served on the Finance Committee.

TORI WORD is employed as a residential and commercial cleaner. She has served at Ascension as an usher, acolyte, and Acolyte Master. She represented Ascension at the 2018 National Acolyte Festival in Washington, D.C. Tori is also a backstage volunteer for Kentucky Dance Academy Performances. She says, “I hope to help our church in whatever goals we wish to accomplish.”

These officers were selected by the new Vestry, immediately after the Annual Meeting:

Iris Skidmore will be asked to remain as Chancellor (legal advisor).
CONVENTION DELEGATES

Also elected at the Annual Meeting were deputies and alternates to the 2020 Diocesan Convention. The Senior Warden (Julia Tyson) is automatically a deputy. The other three deputies are Debbie Kimbrough, Jim King, and Judith Spencer. Alternates are Pauline Van Horn and William Legg. The convention will be held on October 24, 2020 (location is yet undetermined).
