FAFP 2020 Elections Slate & Bylaws Amendments
In accordance with Chapters IV and X of the Florida Academy of Family Physicians (FAFP) Bylaws, the FAFP Board of Directors presents the following 2020 Officer and Board Slate and bylaws amendments.
Nominations for the FAFP Officers and Board were solicited electronically via FAFP News beginning on June 3. The FAFP Nominating Committee met in July and developed the draft slate which will be presented for final approval at the 2020 FAFP Annual Business meeting scheduled during the Virtual FAFP Family Medicine Winter Summit on Saturday December 12, 12:15-1:00PM.

Also to be voted upon during the same virtual meeting will be multiple FAFP bylaws amendments, being recommended by the FAFP Board of Directors, which members are encouraged to download and review. It is expected that both the slate of nominations and bylaws amendments will be approved by acclamation (i.e., barring objection), unless there are any concerns or comments that cannot be clarified prior to December 12. Any member wanting to comment is asked to email FAFP EVP Jay Millson at [email protected] no later than November 15. Thank you.
October Member Spotlight - Dr. Ronald Trout
"I grew up in Southern, Illinois, in a family where hard labor was the center workforce. The balance between hard working parents and my childhood medical hindrances, set the motion for my future goal of working in the medical field. As a child, I suffered from severe asthma and atopic dermatitis. There were nights I recall being unable to breathe and the additive of dermatitis made enduring the fear and uncertainty no easy feat. The lack of suitable treatment for my conditions at the time, followed by familial financial struggles set my conquest of medicine into fruition." CLICK HERE to read more.
