WRL ROAD AMERICA UPDATE 3/24/2020

In this ever-changing climate of uncertainty WRL and Road America are excited to bring you a guarantee you CAN count on:

If the WRL Can-Am Endurance Challenge at Road America is cancelled, all teams will receive a prompt 100% refund.

WHAT WE ASK OF YOU : If you are planning on joining us at Road America but are going to "wait until the last minute" or are "waiting to see what happens", please do your part by registering as soon as possible . Everyone knows that car count brings car count and while we can't predict the future, I can tell you that waiting won't result in the turnout we all want to see.

Moving forward with this race is not the easy choice, the safest route for the series or in the interest of profit— it represents a risk and a challenge we feel is worth taking to help get everyone back to racing and normalcy as quickly as possible . Though guaranteeing a refund if the event is cancelled means you don't have to share the risk with us, we do ask that you do your part by signing up and showing the world we're ready to get back on track .

Rest assured that WRL and Road America will follow all CDC, state and local requirements to ensure that the health and safety of all involved remains top priority. Additionally we'll take extra steps to ensure social distancing protocols are followed, congregations of people are eliminated and every effort to eliminate the possibility of transmission has been made. Even though we are hopeful and cautiously optimistic that by our event the COVID situation will improve, we will still make every effort to ensure everyone's safety is our top priority.

Register with confidence, stay healthy, and lets go racing.

 COVID-19 and Road America

Road America: At this time we don’t expect any disruptions to our schedule.

As you know, many facets of life are being affected by the COVID-19 outbreak and the limitations on gatherings and social distancing requirements. WRL takes the safety of its competitors, staff and track workers very seriously—we've spent the last several weeks developing a comprehensive plan for maintaining compliance with CDC best practices at our events. Both WRL and Road America are committed to holding this race in a manner that is safe for competitors and staff alike. Things like spacing of pit stalls, live-streamed driver's meetings, modification to check-in, tech registration, trophy and many other proceedings will be made to keep everyone safe. We ask that everyone follows CDC and Road America guidelines which can be found below.

We will continue to monitor the situation and update as we learn more but at this time WRL and Road America are working and planning for the event to run as scheduled. If you plan to come please register for the event, tell your friends and help us bring more cars and put on a good show!

UPDATE 3/24/2020

The state of Wisconsin issued a "stay at home" order on 3/23/2020 which expires 4/24/2020, one week before the WRL Can Am Endurance Cup. WRL and Road America will continue to monitor that situation but as of 3/23/2020 and after considering Road America does not forsee any changes to it's scheduled events at this time.

You can see Road America’s statement/position concerning the virus and events in the info-graphic below and the link to their website here
( UPDATED 3/23/2020) :
WRL MEMBERSHIPS

A WRL Membership is REQUIRED to participate in all WRL events (If you are a team captain who registered for the race or purchased number panels you have already paid for your membership and this doesn't apply to you). WRL memberships are on an annual basis so all drivers must purchase a 2020 membership to participate. Drivers will need to register as a member per the instructions from TrackRabbit below:

With the COVID-19 outbreak and our modified check-in procedure, we are counting on you to make sure  ALL  of your co-drivers have purchased their annual World Racing League membership.

You can copy and send this link ( https://bit.ly/2FpXChh ) to any of your co-drivers who still need to purchase a membership to ensure full team participation in the event. Any issues that occur while purchasing a membership can be sent to  [email protected]  for assistance.

DRIVERS WHO DO NOT HAVE A CURRENT MEMBERSHIP WILL NOT RECEIVE A DRIVER WRISTBAND!
DRIVER REGISTRATIONS

Team Captains must register all drivers prior to arrival at the track. Drivers can be added to teams per the instructions from TrackRabbit below:

When registering co-drivers, you will do so on the “Guest” tab of your registration (see photo). First, you’ll select “Team Driver” from the Guest Type dropdown menu. Next you’ll need to add their name and email address. Once completed, simply clock “Add This Guest” and your co-driver will be registered with your team. Keep in mind, your co-drivers MUST purchase a World Racing League annual membership prior to the event in order to participate. Memberships can be purchased here:   https://bit.ly/37KDKkZ

TECH PROCEDURE

PLEASE EMAIL DISCLOSURE WORKSHEETS TO [email protected] BY 4/24/2020

TEAMS WHO SUBMITTED THEIR DISCLOSURE WORKSHEETS TO [email protected] WILL RECIEVE PRIORITY IN THE TECH LINE!

If you have already tech'd in 2020, you only need to visit tech if something has changed on your car since the 1st time that you tech'd this season.

If you have not run your car through tech in 2020, you must do so on Thursday evening or Friday.

In order to streamline the process, we are requesting that all bring their disclosure worksheet and dyno plats to tech on Friday and keep them handy all weekend. YOU WILL NEED THEM IN IMPOUND!

NEW - RULE CHANGES

BE SURE YOU READ AND UNDERSTAND RULES CHANGES FOR WRL IN 2020 .

It is your responsibility to be aware of and in compliance with all 2020 rules including changes and updates. A team was recently DQ'd for a technicality that is clearly posted in the rule book. Great group of guys. We hated to do it but the rules are there for a reason.

If new to WRL be sure to thoroughly read the driver conduct, etiquette and penalty sections specifically. Rules can be found at the link below
