Sweater Weather?
More like wrap-up-in-a-blanket-
and-never-leave-weather!

It is cold here in Georgia but at least we have the fireplace roaring and cozy blankets layered everywhere! As we wrap up the crazy year of 2020, we could not be more thankful for the wonderful clients who have trusted us to turn their spaces into beautiful environments that truly feel like home. As the nation has nested, we have been hard at work. The manufacturers and truck lines have never been so busy! For example, what used to be 8-10 weeks to get custom orders is now 12-14 weeks and the list goes on and on. With that being said, we are extremely grateful for how patient our clients have been. Designing your space is an exciting time and it's so hard to be patient, especially once you've paid for everything! It's hard for us to be patient too!!! But you know what they say... Rome wasn't built in a day :)

As we stated in our Fall newsletter, we attended High Point Market back in October. High Point Market is the largest industry trade show in the world. And let me tell you... it was definitely a different experience compared to the past years! But I guess that's true with everything in 2020 ha. Attending this market gives us such inspiration to see the what's hot, what's not, new creative ideas and trends, along with the timeless things that still remain! We see stuff like the fresh colors coming into the industry (hellooo citron green!), new ways of doing bedding (we will be photographing some of this soon!), lighting galore, awesome new abstract art, and don't even get us started on the beautiful new furniture so many vendors are creating! We can't wait to show you the awesome new creations that are already in the works for our clients homes. It is true what they say... "if you can't find it at High Point...it probably doesn't exist!" Thank you High Point for always being a wealth of knowledge and so inspiring!

As 2021 quickly approaches, it has already proven to be busy! We are so excited to announce some upcoming things Kat Nelson Designs is working hard on. From photographing many new projects, to other surprise things happening, we will be sure to keep everyone updated! Keep a look out for all the exciting new things in the works!

Stay well,
Kat Nelson

POWER OF COLOR

Designed by Kat Nelson Designs

It's not all white no more! Vibrant pallets and rich colors are everywhere! From the design of furniture, lamps, and accessories, all the way to paint colors and wall papers, bold color has arrived!!! Although we all love a good neutral space, life is too short to have a boring color pallet everywhere!

SHIPLAP EVERYWHERE

What used to be the go-to accent wall and has appeared in almost every HGTV home is now being pushed aside as other emerging ways are coming in to bring texture into a space! Wool wallpapers, nailhead accents on the walls, and many more creative ideas like this will be flooding the design trends for 2021 and so on! We are currently working on a "speak easy" inspired room with wool plaid wallpaper...so cool! You'll definitely be seeing photos of this awesome upcoming project this year.

This project turned out so beautiful especially when there's a lake view! We loved using a neutral pallet with pops of navy, blues, and burnt oranges. The foyer is a relaxing and soft welcome that is timeless nonetheless! We wanted to keep this family room cozy and beautiful but of course, functional! And then the beautiful lake view room has been a crowd favorite! And apparently this clients sweet pups favorite place to relax :) We had a great time working on this project and loved the way it turned out!
