NHPA Members:

The 2020 NHPA World Tournament has been canceled

It is with deep regret that we inform you that the 2020 NHPA World Tournament has been canceled. The NHPA officers along with representatives from the City of Monroe, Louisiana have been working closely together to prepare for the tournament to take place. Unfortunately, the impact of the COVID-19 virus has prevented the tournament from going forward. As has been stated previously, the most important thing for the NHPA as well as the City of Monroe, was the safety of those who were planning to come to participate in the World Tournament and enjoy the people and activities around Monroe.

Many of the NHPA members have already paid their entry fee for the 2020 World Tournament. As promised, the funds paid can be refunded back to those individuals or they may choose to apply the amount paid for early entry into the 2021 World Tournament in Winnemucca, Nevada. Please contact the NHPA Secretary/Treasurer Jim Kinney regarding your preference about your paid entry fee. Jim's email is: [email protected]

The World Tournament schedule for coming years will continue as announced previously:
2021       Winnemucca Nevada
2022       Lansing Michigan
2023       Monroe Louisiana (The winning bidder for the 2020 World Tournament will be awarded the 2023 World Tournament since the 2020 World Tournament was canceled for reasons outside of the NHPA or Monroe Louisiana's control)

Although the World Tournament has been canceled, competitive horseshoe pitching continues throughout the world as many NHPA sponsored tournaments continue to take place and many others will be starting soon. We have seen the impact of this virus affecting the lives of those we know and love and want each of you to remain safe. We look forward to the time when we can all gather again in the close friendships that have been built over many years. Hope to see you all soon on horseshoe pits around the world.
