Allegro DVT now has several encoding and decoding IP cores that support 8K using multiple codecs, including AV1, VP9, HEVC, AVC and JPEG. For example, the AL-E210 encoder IP can support real-time and file-based encoding with AV1 (main profile – 4:2:0 in 8 or 10-bit) with resolutions up to 8K and frame rates to 60 fps (120 fps for 4K content). If 12-bit 4:4:4 8K/60 content encoding is desired, this IP core can use the HEVC codec. Read the full press release here.
