Subject:     2021-2022 Regional Assessment

Hello, all Region 16 Members. It's Good News Time!

We hope you are continuing to adapt well to these changing times. It certainly is a period of change and caution as we try to conform to the limitations placed upon us and our families. While we may be apprehensive we are, at the same time, eagerly looking forward to the relaxing of these restrictions so we can get back to a more normal way of life, and come together and sing, sing, sing!

The Regional Management Team has been inspired by your ongoing adaptability and the efforts you have made in meeting, head-on, the unexpected challenges and choices we have all been forced to make during the COVID-19 pandemic. We have been encouraged by your resilience to carry on and find new innovative ways in which to meet and share the joy of music while keeping our sisterhood relationships strong and vibrant. Thank YOU all!

Our Region has remained particularly close and connected this past year. The Regional Management Team engages in regular discussions with chorus leaders and members as a platform of sharing and support. We understand choruses and members alike, are feeling the pressures of meeting their financial commitments surrounding membership and chorus operations. At a recent RMT budget meeting, we were again tasked with finding ways to assist our members through the difficulties of these times. It gives us pleasure to announce that once again the annual Regional Assessment will be waived for the next fiscal year. This means that we will not collect the annual fee of $100 USD per member for the period May 1, 2021 - April 30, 2022. Through the efforts and prudence of past and present Region 16 RMTs, and especially our Regional Financial Coordinator, Colleen O'Dwyer, our treasury funds are able to sustain a further outlay of $63,000 USD, totaling $136,000 USD waived in this and last year's assessments. We are confident this current waiver will be welcome news to you. Additional allowances to help choruses and quartets were recently announced in the email sent from SAI International, on 25 January 2021 concerning International dues. Click here to view.

From all of us to all of you, stay safe, stay well, and thank you for staying connected and committed to your choruses that have been such a rich and gratifying lifeline, feeding our souls and always, lighting our way forward.

Sincerely,

Sue, Susann, Christine, Martha, Colleen, Joan, and Jacqui
