August 11, 2021
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2021-2022 school year! Summer has really flown by! I hope you were able to relax, refresh, and rejuvenate with family and friends. We are grateful for all of the progress our students made last year, and we are looking forward to all they will accomplish this school year under the excellent instruction and guidance of our teachers and staff. Our staff is busily working to prepare an educational environment that is engaging and conducive to students learning at the highest levels.

I would like to begin by extending a special welcome aboard to our new families, and a warm welcome back to our returning families! This year’s “Popsicles on the Playground,” was a huge success! A big thank you to Mrs. Vazquez and our PTO elementary reps (Mrs. Garza and Mrs. Walker) for organizing this event, helping man the popsicles and welcoming our Cougars! This event officially marked the beginning of a new school year! It was so nice to get our first glimpse of our kiddos!

Hopefully, you were able to speak with your child’s teacher this week, and we look forward to seeing you at Thursday’s "Meet the Teacher.” For your convenience we will offer two sessions (9:00-10:15 or 1:30-2:45). Please choose the time that works best for you. There is no need to rsvp. We are eagerly anticipating meeting our new families for “New Family Orientation” at 3:00 Thursday as well.

We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you, to ensure that our children can achieve their highest potential spiritually, mentally, physically, and socially in a safe and nurturing environment. Please know that we continue to take the health and safety of our students, staff, and families very seriously and are committed to doing all that we can to ensure the well being of our Cougar Nation.

As in the past, there will continue to be many opportunities for our students and families to engage in a positive campus culture of excellence this year. Thank you again for choosing Northland and allowing us to be a part of your child’s educational journey. We are one team with one goal: working together as a team daily to meet the needs of each learner entrusted to us. Please see below for beginning of the year information.

We are looking forward to a positive, peaceful, productive and purposeful school year!
Common Classroom Expectations
One of the ways that we praise / worship the Lord is by the way we live our day.

Prayerful In All Things (1 Thessalonians 5:17) Pray continually.

Respect For Authority (1 Thessalonians 5:12) Brothers and sisters, we ask you to show appreciation to those who are working hard among you and those who are your leaders as they guide and instruct you in the Lord -- they are priceless.

Always Do Your Best (Colossians 3:23) Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.

Integrity (Psalms 25:21) May integrity and honesty protect me, for I put my hope in you.

Speak Life (Proverbs 18:21) The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.

Everlasting Love (1 Corinthians 13:4-8) Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

Blessings,
