We know it has been a long hot summer already (for most of you), but the State CAEP Office keeps releasing guidance memos for 2021-22. Recently, the following memos were released: Member Effectiveness, Annual Plan Guidance, and this week, 2021-22 Allocations Guidance and Schedule by Direct Funded and Fiscal Agents. Later this month, the State CAEP Office will release the CAEP Consortium Three-Year Plan Guidance, the 2020-21 Program Area Reporting Guidance, and next month, the CAEP Beginning of the Year Memo that will review all student data system changes and improvements.
In addition, please check the Due Dates section of the website for upcoming student data reporting deadlines, consortium planning due dates, quarterly expenditure reporting due dates, and the 2021-22 allocation certification due date and Program Area reporting (estimates) due date.

In just one short month, the CAEP Summit 2021 Planning Committee will close the call for proposals! The CAEP Summit 2021 Planning Committee and attendees are interested in learning from you and how your program and practices have aligned with the CAEP State Priorities. Reminder: Submit a Model Program for Recognition at the CAEP Summit 2021
|
|
CAEP TAP is still accepting Model Programs nominations. Model programs are reviewed and added to the repository via a nomination process and are awarded annually at the CAEP Summit. The Advancing CA Adult Education video will provide details on how to submit a model program, including a live demonstration with step-by-step instructions. Review the video and submit today. Don’t forget – the top two scoring programs will be highlighted at the Summit.

2021 HSE Summer Convenings

Find out the latest information on High School Equivalency (HSE) by attending the 2021 HSE Summer Convenings. This training, presented by the California Department of Education, is designed for high school equivalency chief examiners and test site administrators. Sessions will be held on Thursdays in August from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

LAUSD’s SkillsUSA Team Won Ten National Medals
|
|
Los Angeles Unified Adult Education (LA Unified Adult) is thrilled to share the wonderful news about the superb performance of our SkillsUSA team in this year’s SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skill Conference. On June 24, 2021, thousands of contestants, teachers, advisors, and industry representatives from across the country met via Zoom to celebrate everyone’s resilience and accomplishments. Regardless of this year’s challenges, the LA Unified Adult SkillsUSA team brought home ten national medals, including four gold medals for the first time at the national competition. Congratulations to all!

PPIC: Geography of College Readiness in California
|

According to PPIC’s latest blog post on college readiness, only about a third of California’s 9th graders make it to and through college—and students from middle- and higher-income families are about twice as likely as their lower-income peers to do so. Amid ongoing concerns about the pandemic’s effects on educational opportunities, improving the transition from high school to a four-year college is critical, yet school districts vary greatly as to the share of students who graduate ready for college.

MIS Coding: A Continued Discussion of New and Other Key Metrics

CAEP Program Area Report Results for 2019-20

The State CAEP Office again contracted with Workforce Enterprise Services, Inc. (WES) to analyze the results of the 2019-2020 Hours and Expenditures report submission. This webinar will review the results of our analysis, and will provide an opportunity for CAEP providers to ask questions about the results and recommended changes to reporting requirements. Tim Harmon, President of WES, will lead this discussion.
