AAF YOUNG CONDUCTORS FELLOWSHIP

SUMMER 2021
We are pleased to announce the 2021 AAF Young Conductors Fellowship Program of The American Austrian Foundation. Qualified young conductors, born in 1990 or later, who have recently finished their academic studies or who are working toward graduate diplomas in conducting at top-ranking American music schools are invited to apply.

This fellowship provides young and promising conductors, aged 30 and younger and from the United States, with the opportunity to spend up to four weeks at the Salzburg Festival observing the world's leading conductors and artists. Fellows will live at Schloss Arenberg, AAF's conference center, a mere ten minutes from the Festival Hall with members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, several of whom reside at Schloss Arenberg during the month of August.

The Salzburg Festival ("Salzburger Festspiele"), founded in 1920 by Max Reinhard and Hugo von Hofmansthal, is the benchmark for all festivals worldwide. Each year unique opera and concert productions bring together the world's finest singers, conductors and musicians. The chance to observe and meet the maestros is an unforgettable experience for any young conductor.

Application details are available here.

The deadline for applications is Friday, April 9th, 2021.
