2021 Cuba Township Assessment Notice
The Lake County Chief County Assessment Office mailed the 2021 Property Assessment notices to residents, and they should arrive around Thursday, July 15. Assessment values will be published and available online beginning July 15.

As indicated on the blue assessment notice, we encourage you to check the factual accuracy of your property (i.e. number of bathrooms or square footage) at our property search portal, IMSLake.org. If you notice an error in your property characteristics, contact our office at 847-381-1120 or send an email to info@cubaassessoril.gov to schedule an appointment to review your property.

There is a 30-day window to appeal your assessment and the last day to file a formal appeal is August 16, 2021. Instructions to appeal your assessment are available on our website.
Senior Citizen Assessment Freeze Filing Deadline is July 31, 2021
The Senior Freeze provides seniors with limited income protection against real estate tax increases due to rising property values. It is not a tax freeze or a tax reduction and does not protect against increased taxes due to tax rate increases.

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Own the property as their principal residence for two consecutive years (January 1).
  • Be age 65 or older.
  • Have a total household income of $65,000 or less. Household income includes the income of all persons using the property as their principal dwelling place on January 1 of the tax year.

Instructions to file online are here.

You may also call our office at 847-381-1120 to make an appointment to file with our office.

Sincerely,
Rebecca M. Tonigan, CIAO
Assessor
