Buy gas and support SEF at Mission Car Wash!
We invite you to support public education in San Gabriel by purchasing gas on Tuesdays at San Gabriel Mission Car Wash! They will donate one cent per gallon to the San Gabriel Educational Foundation to support programs at schools in SGUSD!

President's Message
Dear Friends of SEF,
Each and every day there is a strong and dynamic group of volunteer board members who give of their time to benefit almost 5,000 students enrolled in San Gabriel public schools. They are all part of our wonderful community organization the San Gabriel Educational Foundation for which we can all be extremely proud of. As President of this amazing non-profit, I realize first hand fulfilling our mission is made possible only through funding and support from our community. We need conversations surrounding our organization to generate a desire to serve or invest in what we do. As such, I hope the work that we do inspires you to join our cause so that we can not only continue our good work but expand our impact.
2021 has been a busy year for all of us. As you reflect on this past year amidst all of your holiday preparations, I ask you to stand with us today and make a commitment to give of your time, talent or treasure to help us further our mission. Your support through your active presence is critical to the continued success of our organization. The deadline to make your 2021 tax-deductible donation to SEF is drawing near and must be made before midnight on December 31, 2021. We gladly accept donations via mail, or you can follow the “Donate” link online at seffor8schools.org. We welcome any amount you or your business wish to contribute.
In closing, I want you to know that your support and investment in our mission enables us to continue educating, advocating for and supporting the San Gabriel public school community. It allows us to thrive and grow, pivot and change, to reach more students, more teachers and more families. You make a difference. I am always available to you as a resource. I hope you will email or call with any questions you may have or to talk about the impact you can and would like to make as a SEF Volunteer Board Member; or simply email me to share the inspiration behind your generous giving.
I hope that your holidays are spent with those you love the most, whether they are around your table or just in your heart. Have a wonderful and happy holiday season!

1. Why do you support SEF?
I support SEF because of SEF’s commitment to the San Gabriel Unified educational community. I support SEF because its members are committed to their Mission in providing expanded learning experiences for District students inside and outside of the classroom.
The biggest reasons for my personally supporting of SEF, is that I believe in their leadership and I believe that SEF continues to share the hopes and lofty goals we strive towards in making the learning environment for our Gabrielino Students the best that it can be. This commitment increases opportunities for all students regardless of Previous Achievement or background.

2. In your opinion, what is the One Thing that SEF does that enriches students' lives?
In my opinion, the “One Thing” that SEF does that enriches student lives is that it makes a difference for each student, no matter the need. Gabrielino benefitted from a Summer Academy that allowed students to accelerate their course work so that they could move into a higher level of class and/or create space in their schedule to take elective classes. The Naviance platform, provided by SEF has been instrumental in advancing how students work with Counselors and plan for their future, helping them identify their own interests and strengths in career fields.
At various times when Gabrielino has had to face budget constraints and possible reduction in the services students count on, SEF has provided continued access to the school library after hours, so students are able to work and use research materials for their classes. There are many many more “One Things” that I could site, but the bottom line is that SEF supports students no matter where they are.
