The Mequon Nature Preserve strives to be a guiding example of habitat restoration by returning the land to a mosaic of forests, prairies, and wetlands and establishing an educational conservancy that inspires exploration and cultivates stewardship. A $10,000 grant was given for a Bobcat gas utility vehicle for land restoration efforts from the MCF in 2021.

Highland Bike/Pedestrian Path Project
|
|
Rotary Park in Mequon is loved for its multiple recreational uses, such as bicycling, walking, running, competitive sports activities, entertainment, and more. A group of passionate citizens formed a committee to privately fund a safe, off-road two-directional 10 ft wide paved bike and pedestrian path for approximately 1.5 miles along the Highland Road from Rotary Park. This path will enhance the accessibility of the Park while providing connectivity to the Interurban Trail.
Currently, residents along the 1.5 miles of the proposed path along Highland Road have no safe access by bicycle or foot from Rotary Park to the Interurban Trail. The Highland Road Bike Path will resolve these safety issues and enhance the Mequon Community!
Are you interested in supporting the Highland Bike / Pedestrian Path Project? We encourage all citizens passionate about creating safe bike and pedestrian paths around our community to help us with this effort. Visit our website to learn more about the project and how to donate to the cause!
