North American Skål Congress BID Process For SPRING 2021
Background
All clubs are welcome to bid on the 2021 Congress
A Congress Joint Committee, overseeing future congresses, is comprised of members of the supporting National Committees. At the 2017 Congress, new process was introduced to select future Congress destinations based on the following merits:
* Destination desirability
* Quality program and delegate/ visitor experiences
* Cost reasonableness
* Travel accessibility

Club Expression of Interest Submission Deadline: September 30, 2019
Submission Content (suggested max 5 pages)
* Congress proposed dates: Ideal date range April to early May (avoid school breaks, religious holidays, major travel conferences i.e. IPW, TIANGUS TURISTICO (Mexico), WTM Latin America, ITB Berlin, IMEX EUROPE, Rendez Vous Canada)
* Overview of destination and key attractions, pre/post tour opportunities
* General theme or program/ potential regional speaker topics/ delegate tour options
* Preferred hotel(s) with group rates
* Sample of current economy flight costs from a selection of relevant points of origin i.e. 2 Canadian and 2 US points of origin (or all-inclusive hotel or cruise cost examples).
* Formal letter of commitment from host club to meet Congress Guidelines
Selection and Ratification
* The Joint Congress Committee will conduct further research to short list the destination(s) and confirm a final selection. The selected club will be presented at the National Committee Fall Board meetings and the destination club will be announced by November 30th, 2019.
POST SELECTION
Formal Submission From The Selected Destination
* A preliminary program, budget and delegate cost to be submitted by March 31, 2020. * Commitment to meet goals as outlined in the Manual
* Commitment to attend Winnipeg Congress Spring 2020
2020 Congress Presentation
* Presentation at General Assembly
* Confirm Congress package with dates, accommodations, key services i.e. transfers, agenda, preliminary program and pricing
* Delegate deposits and registration platform launch date
