Seminar Day Tuesday October 12
Transformational Puppy Rearing  1:00 to 4:00 pm Crockett Amphitheater

By member request, Gayle Watkins PhD. joins us this year to present her Transformation Puppy Rearing seminar. This seminar is not just for breeders, as anyone that has or plans to add a puppy to their home will find helpful tips for successfully raising a puppy. Gayle is Head of Education at Good Dog. As the Head of Education at Good Dog, her goal is to empower dog breeders and owners so they
can bring out the best in every dog and puppy, and improve the health and happiness of generations of dogs to come. Gayle is a natural fit with Good Dog’s mission to build a better world for our dogs and the people who love them. Many of you may know Gayle from the company she started, Avidog.  The Generation Forward Committee is hosting this seminar. Please join us at this exciting seminar.

The Doberman Pinscher Breed Standard  9:00 to 11:00 am Crockett Amphitheater

The standard is where it all starts!  And Seminar Day always kicks off with Bob Vandiver's presentation on the Breed Standard.  No other presentations conflict with the Breed Standard...that is how important this session is. Attendance at this presentation has grown as members hear about the quality of Bob's presentation.  This is the same information judges receive as they learn about our Breed. This seminar is hosted by the Breeder's Education Committee.

Handling Seminar 11:30 to 5:00 pm Meadowview Ballroom

Colleen Nicholson and team are back with the very popular handling seminar.  This seminar is well attended every year. Colleen changes topics from year to year and the schedule for this year is:
11:30 am -1 pm    Setup and Moving
1pm -2pm  Lunch
2pm -3pm     The Art of Free Baiting
3pm -4pm     Timing is Everything
4pm -5pm     Get the Most From a Judge

So You Want to be a WAE Evaluator  11:15 am to 12:45 pm  Bays Mountain Conference Room

Members have asked for more information on what it takes to be an evaluator. Eric Peterson suggested in the last ROM Committee meeting that a short presentation be delivered at the National. Please join members of the ROM committee to discuss the requirements to be an evaluator and what the job entails.
Hosted by the ROM Committee.

Canine First Aid   11:15 to 12:45 pm  Crockett Amphitheater

Mona Fasth DVM presents a seminar on Canine First Aid. Learn how to treat injuries and what you should have on hand should an emergency arise. This session hosted by the Health Seminar Coordinator, Stephanie Rudich.

For those attending the WAE Evaluator or Canine First Aid sessions, we will have pizza and soft drinks on hand! If you plan to attend these seminars, please let the show committee know so we can plan for the luncheon. Email that you plan to attend to dpcanationalshow@dpca.org.

Please join the presenters and hosting committees for an informative day of seminars. We look forward to seeing you!
Age Advanced Sweeps
There have been questions posted in the various Facebook groups about what class to enter in this sweeps. Simple answer is the same class you would enter in Maturity. The classes are exactly the same. The only difference is that your dog/bitch must have been individually nominated for the 2020 Futurity Stakes. You may enter the Maturity stakes if the litter(bitch) was nominated even if your dog was not individually nominated.
