After a competitive application process, and much deliberation, ITRC is proud to announce next year's selected project teams. Kicking off in 2021 and ranging between one and two years in length, ITRC's 2021 projects are briefly summarized below:
Coming January 2021
Environmental Data Management for Best Practices
Project Timeline: 12-18 Months
Goal: Develop a clear set of Data Management Best Practice guides focused on data interoperability, and create an online data forum on ITRC's website, bringing data users together.
Effective Application of Multiple ITRC Guidance Documents to Hydrocarbon Sites
Project Timeline: 12 Months
Goal: Develop a new combined classroom training and 2-hour online training focused on the application of key concepts in 5 team documents; LNAPL, PVI, TPH, Massflux, and IDSS. Supplement training with additional materials offering guidance to more effectively communicate ITRC Documents.
Microplastics
Project Timeline: 18 Months
Goal: Develop fact sheets, training materials and offer training courses providing information and best management practices on most important issues surrounding microplastics, such as Environmental Impacts, Prevention and Recycling, Water Treatment Technologies, and Plastic Alternatives.
Coming July 2021
Performance-Based Optimization of Pump and Treat Systems
Project Timeline: 24 Months
Goal: Develop a guidance document and corresponding online training for Pump and Treat system optimization, building on past ITRC efforts, incorporating recent technical advancements, and focusing on optimization approaches specific to P&T systems.
ITRC QUEST – Quickening Environmental Solutions and Training
Project Timeline: 18-24 Months
Goal: Develop modular educational products focused on bridging knowledge gaps to quicken individual competency and professional decision making.
