2021 Recreational Soccer Registration Now Open!

The time has finally arrived, recreational registration is now open! While some of you may be in a rush to register, please take the time to read through all the information in this email to help limit any confusion regarding the process. We've had to switch again to a new registration platform called "GotSport". See below for more information.

New Registration Platform
While we are having to change registration systems again this year, the great news is that our new system (called GotSport) will remain for years to come. Everyone will need to create a new account and re-enter (returning players) all the information, including a photo and proof of birth.

We truly appreciate your patience as we complete this transition. The new system is user friendly and easy to navigate, but we understand there will be a learning process. We are working to gather resources and guides for using the system, but for now, see the link below for some general tips.

Player Photos & Proof of Birth
One of the first steps in registering a player is to upload a photo. This is a headshot - face only, and no sunglasses or hats. You will also be required to supply a proof of birth, which can be a birth certificate, passport, or green card. If these two things are not supplied, the player cannot receive a player pass card, which is required to play.

Uploading of the Proof of Birth document will occur after completing the registration form. See the link below for a step-by-step guide on how to do this.

Important Dates
Recreational registration will run through June 20th, which will be a hard deadline. To ensure we are able to get all players and coaches processed and ready to take the field in time, we will not accept late registrations after June 20th. Please register early and do not wait until the deadline approaches.

The goal is to form teams in July, with practices beginning in August. Games typically begin the Saturday after Labor Day Weekend and run through mid-November. You should hear from your coach in early August with your child’s team assignment and practice times/location. Games are scheduled on Saturdays and with 1-3 practices per week, depending on your coaches preference.
Coaches
All coaches for GBFC are volunteers and without them the kids cannot play! Please register as a coach as soon as possible to be a part of a wonderful and fulfilling experience. Reach out to Krista Andersen at reccoachdirector@granitebayfc.com with any questions.

Activity Director Needed
We are in need of a new Activity Director, who's main responsibility is to help organize picture day. We have a vendor that we've worked with for years who would assist our Activity Director in coordinating and planning for picture day. To ensure we have a picture day this year, we need a generous volunteer to assume this role. Please email us at communications@granitebayfc.com if interested.

Uniform Information
Please go to Soccer Pro for all your uniform needs. For rec players, the uniform consists of a green jersey, white jerseys, black shorts, and black socks.
