High-Quality Care for Medicare Beneficiaries Continues as Medicare Health and Drug Plans Receive Star Ratings

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has released the Medicare Advantage and Part D star ratings for 2021.

Most Medicare beneficiaries – about 77% – who enroll in Medicare Advantage plans with drug coverage will be in plans with four or more stars in 2021. That compares with 69% of beneficiaries enrolled in such plans in 2017, CMS said. Read more
Humana Rolls Out 2021 Medicare Advantage Health Plans with Expanded $0 Premiums and Enhanced Benefits in More Counties Nationwide

Humana Inc. announced details of its 2021 Medicare product offerings, including Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug Plans that are built with the benefits and options people eligible for Medicare need most. Beneficiaries will also have new choices through the launch of 69 new MAPD plans across hundreds of additional counties. Learn more
Carriers and Plans Participating in CMS Model to Save Consumers on Insulin Costs

In 2021, there will be 1,635 prescription drug plans participating in the Part D Senior Savings Model, including both MAPDs and PDPs. The model will have 76 participating Part D sponsors. Through this, about 13.2 million enrollees will be covered across all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico.
