2021 Stewardship Campaign - Last Appeal
"We make a living by what we get,
but we make a life by what we give.”

We are on the downhill side of the stewardship campaign. Our stewardship goal is $281,450.00. As of December 16, 2020, we have received 28 time and talent pledges and 29 financial pledges for a total of $142,612.00 or 53% of the goal.

Thank you to all of you who have submitted pledges. In this time of chaos and uncertainty, your pledge brings hope and encouragement. Even though a pledge is not a contract, it still gives the Finance Subcommittee and the session a promising idea of what you intend. This allows the Finance Subcommittee to be realistic in their planning of a budget for 2021.

We hope that we will continue to receive support from members who did not pledge and from visitors, but without knowing someone’s intentions, it is harder to guess how much to allot for that. If you have not submitted a pledge for the coming year, we are still hopeful that you will. It is not too late! Think of the church’s budget as you do your own. Because you know what your annual, monthly, or weekly income is going to be, you can make short-term and long-term plans. Your pledge affords Hillside that capability as well. If you have ever lived week to week or month to month without knowing whether you will have enough money to meet your expenses, you have a good idea of the situation Hillside is facing with having pledges for only 53% of the proposed budget. Although a pledge can be submitted at any time, it would be helpful if it is received before session needs to finalize the budget.

Also, know that you can adjust your pledge up or down or discontinue it whenever your situation demands by simply contacting the Assistant Treasurer, Elder Dorothy Lott or the Secretary, Ms. Tiffany Cain. Both pledgers and non-pledgers have been generous in giving to Hillside and we hope that will continue but having the pledge in hand is better than speculation and reduces the anxiety associated with it. Please pledge!
