December 29, 2021
Greetings!
As 2021 sunsets, I've been thinking about this year's milestones for me, personally, and for Point Reyes National Seashore Association. The year was another one of great learning... about ourselves, the park, and the communities of people and wildlife who find belonging here.

One blessing I can count on day in and day out is the wonderful PRNSA staff. We do a lot of reflection in our weekly staff meetings, and I invite you to view this short video to hear in our own words, what has been important to us. Enjoy the voices and gorgeous scenes from around the park. Special shout out to Zoe Duerksen-Salm, who joined us this year, for her wonderful videography and storytelling skills.

As we close out the year, I invite you to reflect on what Point Reyes National Seashore has meant to you in 2021. I also ask that you consider making a year-end gift to help us continue to deliver on our conservation, education, and community-building goals.
Warmly,
Donna Faure
Executive Director
Holiday Park Activities
After some much-needed rain, the upcoming holiday weekend at Point Reyes will likely be gorgeous and sunny. Why not spend a day at the Seashore?
Below are some possible indoor and outdoor weekend activities.
Bear Valley Visitor Center: All weekend long you can get acquainted with the park by visiting the Visitor Center daily from 9:30am - 5:00pm.

Whale Watching: Whales can be spotted from the Lighthouse steps and observation deck. Weather permitting, the steps, observation deck, and the visitor center are open from 10:00am - 4:00pm this holiday weekend (Friday - Sunday).

Elephant Seal Overlook: The first Point Reyes elephant seal pups of the season were born over the last couple of days. You can enjoy seeing them from a safe distance at the Elephant Seal Overlook all weekend long.

Fire Zone Hiking: The Sky Trail Self-Guided Hike will take you on a 5.3 mile hike along the Inverness Ridge and through the central area of the Woodward Fire perimeter. You can either read it before hiking or print it out and take it with you!
We partner with the National Park Service to create opportunities for all people to experience, enhance, and preserve Point Reyes National Seashore for present and future generations.
