Diplomate Update
June 2021
2021 C-cert Activities Approved for ABPN Self-Assessment Credits
The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) reviewed the UCNS Continuous Certification (C-cert) activities and has approved the 2021 C-cert program as a part of a comprehensive self-assessment (SA) program, which is mandated by the American Board of Medical Specialties as a necessary component of maintenance of certification. Diplomates will now have the opportunity to earn up to 11 ABPN SA credits in addition to up to 11 AMA PRA Category 1 credits for meeting the 2021 UCNS C-cert requirements. Find out more here. For information on how to print your CME and SA credits confirmation, go to Help at www.ucns.org.
Don't Delay! Pay Annual C-cert Fee Now for Quiz Access
Pay your 2021 C-cert annual fee now for maximum time to access and complete the 2021 C-cert quiz. All UCNS diplomates must now maintain their UCNS certification by meeting the annual C-cert requirements.

To pay your annual C-cert fee, sign into your diplomate profile and look for the Pay Now icon on the left side of your profile page.
  • You will receive the quiz access link and instructions to your online subspecialty quiz within five business days of payment.

If you have not completed the 2020 C-cert requirements, there is still time to complete the requirements to change your certification status to "meeting requirements."
  • To pay outstanding C-cert fees for quiz access, sign into your diplomate profile and look for the Pay Now icon on the left side of your profile page.
  • If you paid the 2020 fee but haven't completed the quiz, you may log into the testing platform to complete the 2020 quiz. You will need to pay the 2021 fee to gain access to the 2021 quiz.

Questions regarding the C-cert requirements or process? Contact Bryan Hagerla, Continuous Certification Manager at [email protected] or (612) 928-6326.
UCNS Certification Approved by Quest Analytics "Better Doctor" Physician Platform
After careful review of the UCNS certification and continuous certification process, Quest Analytics has approved the UCNS's request for inclusion of UCNS certifications in the list of certifications in the BetterDoctor physician profile system.

Diplomates can now add this information to their BetterDoctor profile by clicking “Add a board certificate” under the Board certificates section of the portal where they will be presented with an alphabetical drop-down list under “Name of certifying board.” Scroll to “United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties” then select the applicable specialty from the “Specialty” drop-down list. In each drop-down list, there is a place to begin typing a selection rather than needing to scroll through an alpha-sort list. Find out more at www.ucns.org/News.
Certification Comment Period Open for Interventional Neurology
Physicians practicing in the neurologic subspecialty of Interventional Neurology and UCNS diplomates are invited to comment on the proposed Interventional Neurology Certification Examination content outline and certification eligibility requirements. Comments will be accepted through Monday, July 12, 2021. Documents and comment submission links can be found under About at www.ucns.org.
