MOUNTAIN BIKE RACING SEASON IS ALMOST HERE! REGISTER FOR 2021 SHORT TRACK AND TOWN SERIES RACES
(Vail, Colo.) - The Vail Recreation District is pleased to announce that mountain bike racing is back for 2021! Join us for the VRD Bloch & Chapleau Mountain Bike Town Series starting in May. Before then, get your bike skills in gear with the Short Track Race Series kicking off at the Eagle County Fairgrounds on Wed, April 21. Online registration is now open for both series and individual races. These events offer exciting and varied courses in and around the Vail Valley with categories for mountain bikers of all ages and experience levels!

The spring short track races get riders ready for the upcoming biking season. No points or prizes - just a fun way to get in shape after a long winter! Races will take place on a short, dirt loop and racers have 20 minutes to ride as many laps as possible in that time. Youth races will be five and 10 minutes in length.

The 2021 VRD Bloch & Chapleau Town Mountain Bike Race Series returns for its 38th year to offer fun and exciting racing to mountain bikers of all ages and experience levels. This summer over 1,200 riders will compete for over $30,000 in prizes and priceless bragging rights. Whether competing in an individual race or signing up for the entire series, racers and teams have the chance to win awesome prizes and personal glory!

There will be after-parties following each short track and town race where we'll celebrate with a raffle and adult participants will get free beer.

We are very excited to be teaming up with Bloch & Chapleau Attorneys at Law as our new title sponsor for the town series. Bloch & Chapleau have been big supporters of VRD racing since 2019 and we look forward to strengthening this great partnership!

The Youth Mountain Bike Race Series, presented by Yeti's Grind, showcases younger riders ages eight to 17. Youth riders are invited to participate in every race in the town series, with the exception of the Lost Lake race on July 7, which is limited to adults only. The Minturn Mini Kids Race on May 19 is for kids only and lets young riders have the spotlight!

Please note that the Vail Recreation District will be following all state and county COVID-19 guidelines for this upcoming race season.
