As we enter the holiday season and wrap up 2021, I would like to thank you for your unwavering commitment and support of Girls Inc. of Greater Houston. This year we returned in-person and with the help of our amazing supporters and 150+ volunteers, we served 1,700+ unduplicated girls across 36 sites throughout Greater Houston; virtually hosted our inaugural Be BOLD LeadHERS Summit, expanded services to include Alief ISD; and began the celebration of our 25th Anniversary!

2020 taught us that we can increase the number of girls we serve to include virtual programming, so we have decided to keep that option available. In 2021, we kicked off our year-round virtual “Open to the Community” sessions/workshops for girls ages 13-18. Additionally, hosting virtual programming allowed us to increase the number of partnerships with our corporate partners, such as Lockheed Martin for the Flying to Your Future workshop where our 4th and 5th-grade girls did hands-on engineering activities with real engineers; Macy’s virtual career panel discussion where our high school girls heard from lawyers, engineers, and designers because fashion is not the only department at the retail giant; Deloitte MADE focused on careers in accounting; Allergan’s virtual mentor workshops focusing on “Choosing Leadership” and “Your Future in STEM Curriculum”, just to name a few.

As an organization, we are committed to ensure that all girls have an opportunity to join Girls Inc. regardless of their financial circumstances, neighborhood, race, ethnic, or cultural background.
