Powell & Aucello served as exclusive advisors in the sale of Makai Sunset Inn, a 20-room oceanfront boutique hotel located in Lahaina, Maui.
Powell & Aucello, working in partnership with Maui-based real estate broker G. Warren Freeland, began representing the seller, a Maui-based kama’aina family in July. The brokerage firm’s extensive contacts among mainland hotel investors allowed them to affect an expeditious sale, closing before year-end. Freeland’s relationships on Maui and deep local real estate market knowledge provided invaluable support throughout the process.

The buyer, Continental Assets Management, owns two other hotels in Hawaii, the Hilton Garden Inn Wailua Bay on Kauai and is developing the AC Hotel by Marriott in downtown Honolulu.
