2022-2023 Back to School Updates

Dear North Allegheny Parents/Guardians, 

We couldn’t be more excited to welcome all of our students back together to start the 2022-2023 school year on Monday, August 22, 2022! 

On Wednesday, August 17, the North Allegheny Board of School Directors will meet. Ahead of this meeting, we wanted to share a few key updates with our parents/guardians. 

2022-2023 Health & Safety Plan 

• The North Allegheny Board of School Directors will vote to approve the 2022-2023 Health & Safety Plan on Wednesday, August 17.  
• An overview of the plan can be found below, with a full copy on our website.

NASD 2022-2029 Strategic & Comprehensive Plan

• Throughout the 2021-2022 school year, staff, students, and members of the North Allegheny School District community collaborated together to create the Strategic and Comprehensive Plan. 
• On our website, you will find a draft of the plan. We will review the key pillars of the plan during the Back to School In-Service Day on Tuesday.

Planning Process

• Through the strategic planning process, we surveyed students, staff, parents/guardians, and the community to gain insights into how our students learn and what those learning experiences can and should include. 

Strategic & Comprehensive Plan Next Steps 

• Next week, we will share the full Comprehensive & Strategic Plan that includes our strategic direction, focus areas, and strategic initiatives. Each initiative is defined by key objectives, as well as how they will be executed. 
• The plan will be presented to the NASD Board of School Directors during the August 24, 2022 meeting. 
• When the plan is approved by the NASD Board of School Directors, it will be submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
