JCSD Afterschool Program off to a Great Start!

Engaging Creative Minds (ECM) Instructors bring energy and creativity to the classroom as they share their area of expertise and integrate it with the academic curriculum in engaging ways. Our Instructors represent the arts, culture, or an area of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics). Teachers and Counselors design highly engaging arts/STEAM lessons that are designed to meet the needs of students. Students receive homework support from teachers and participate in IReady intervention.

HJSHS Hosted a World Culture Night

Cuisine, music, arts, and culture from around the world were on full display at HJSHS. Our teacher population has grown to be populated by many international teachers from many countries. This event was well attended and enjoyed by all. Events like this don't simply happen; they are a collaboration of lots of work from teachers, staff, students, and community stakeholders. Thanks to everyone who gave their time to support this effort. Contact your school if you have an idea for an event for our students to enjoy!

Math Fun Night was a Success!

Shout-out to everyone who helped make our 'Math Night at Piggly Wiggly in Ridgeland' a success! Our scholars had an opportunity to utilize their math skills while their parents shopped for groceries.

Induction Teacher Institute

Teachers on the Ridgeland Campus participated in their second Induction Teacher Institute, focusing on health, wellness, and mindfulness. Guest speaker Mr. Todd Scholl shared with teachers various techniques they could use to practice educator mindfulness. Additionally, teachers learned how to create content for Podcasting and use these skills to transfer into their classrooms.

Motivational Mondays w/ Hometown Leader

Kyle Greene, a Jasper County Native, spoke to RSAE students. He told his story of perseverance and related the value of being above negative influences. His message had a definite impact on our students. Thanks, Mr. Greene, for your time and investment in our scholars!
