2022 April-May Workshops
In the coming months, we have prepared an exciting schedule of workshops for caregivers. You can learn Healthy Diet and Nutrition, see how to Sleep Fast, understand Power of Attorney and Will for Seniors, and do all kinds of crafts and regular exercises with us...

Speaking of exercises, we are offering 3 special sessions with extra 30-minute orientation on top of the regular 1-hour online exercise. You will have a deep look into how to workout and yoga safely and efficiently: May-6 Zoom Yoga, May-25 Zoom Exercise (CN), June-8 Zoom Exercise (EN).

In addition, we will have a field trip to Richmond Brighouse Library on a Saturday with an experienced librarian to explore new and helpful resources about health-care, self-care and relaxation!

Life could be easier when it is more organized. According to Christina Scalise, "Organization isn’t about perfection. It’s about efficiency, reducing stress and clutter, saving time and money and improving your overall quality of life.”

Everyone may have their own tricks of making it work. Let's see three of them.
The City of Richmond is developing a new Council-approved Seniors Strategy 2022–2032 and is seeking input from adults aged 55 years and over, their families and those who work with the 55+ population.

Please share your thoughts on this draft Strategy in a short 10-15 minute survey in April either online or in person. The draft Seniors Strategy is available at bit.ly/seniors-strategy

Other resources for seniors:
Richmond Hospital Foundation has partnered with Aberdeen Centre and McArthurGlen Vancouver to place public displays of gratitude at each of their properties for the month of April. These displays provide the public an opportunity to share words of appreciation for Richmond healthcare workers. One can take a photo there and post on social media with hashtag #GratefulForYou.
As a shared green space maintained by members to grow food, flowers, and other plants, a community garden provides opportunities for residents to grow food, meet new friends, share knowledge, and build community. Richmond's community garden sites are managed by the non-profit Urban Bounty.

Recently, the city's largest community garden with 200 plots has been available on the Garden City Lands with 200 plots.
This monthly e-newsletter is issued on every second Wednesday for our caregivers as an update of the Hub's services and community resources, as well as to share caregiving experience and insights, all for the purpose of supporting caregivers in their journey of healthy living and caregiving.
